About Theme Park Access

Why this website began

This website grew out of a father’s love of theme parks and his recognition of the challenges some families—including his own—face when planning and enjoying their visits.

The aim is to help more families feel prepared, make informed choices and enjoy a day out that works for them.

What this project is for

Theme Park Access helps disabled visitors and their companions prepare for European theme park visits. It is a free, independent project. There are no adverts, affiliate links, paid rankings or paid planning services.

How information is produced

We use park publications as the starting point, with AI-assisted research and drafting. We link the sources and distinguish the park’s stated rules from practical questions to ask. Profiles are desk research, not evidence that an editor has visited or independently tested a facility.

Review notes describe what was checked. An overview is less complete than a detailed practical review. A date means the information was read then; it is not a guarantee that the park has kept it unchanged. We do not rank parks as universally “best for disability”: needs, ride requirements and the people travelling are too different.

How corrections work

1. Visitors can report an error or missing detail privately.
2. We compare the specific claim with a current official source. Conflicting information is recorded and explained.
3. Material corrections are listed on our updates page. Visitor experience informs research but does not become a park-wide rule without supporting evidence.
4. AI-assisted reply drafts remain private for editorial review. They are not automatically sent.

What we are still building

The guide is growing, with a mix of expanded destination guides and focused park overviews. Coverage of toilets, sensory spaces, assistance dogs, transfers, transport and accommodation is uneven. Each profile flags questions still needing a park-specific answer. Please tell us which gaps matter most to your visit.

Accessibility of this website

We use readable text, visible keyboard focus, labelled forms, reduced-motion preferences and printable planning notes. Core profiles have individual web pages and can be read without JavaScript. Interactive search, the planner, feedback and the private inbox use JavaScript.

This site has not had a formal accessibility audit or testing by a representative group of disabled users. If anything is difficult to use, tell us what you were trying to do and what went wrong. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis.
