What the "Accessibility" page actually covers
The page at therme-erding.de/en/accessibility/ is a declaration about the website, not the spa. It covers the website, shop, hotel booking pages, lounge booking, the entry reservation system and the virtual tour, says they only partly meet digital accessibility rules, and lists known problems (some video captions, some PDFs such as menus and the daily programme, the Kids Club page, the textile-free lounge booking, the virtual tour and the entry reservation system). It was written in June 2025 and last updated 21 October 2025. It says nothing about guests with disabilities visiting the spa. That information is in the FAQ, prices page, house rules and hotel pages used below.
How access works: ordinary entry, a carer goes free, no queue scheme
We found no ride pass, return time, priority entrance or other arrangement for shortening or moving a wait. The only concession is for carers. The FAQ says plainly that the spa cannot offer a discount to the disabled person. The same FAQ states that the spa is mostly on the ground floor and so is "highly accessible for wheelchairs", and also that guests should be able to take a few steps into the pools alone or with a little staff help. The staff offer help where they can.
Why we class this as tickets only. The pages describe no separate queue, entrance or return-time system. The one published concession is free carer entry. We found no published waiting-time information for the slides.
| Who | What the spa says |
|---|---|
| Disabled guest | No disability discount. Pays the ordinary price. The prices page lists a Therme day ticket at €52 for one day, rising to €62 with the textile-free Vital and Sauna areas (ages 16 and up in that area); weekend, Bavarian holiday and school-holiday prices are higher (€59 and €69 on the page we read); these are prices as listed on 2 October 2026 and can change. |
| Carer | Free if the disabled person is over 4 and the card has B or H. The carer must be an adult. |
| Children | Children up to 3 years are free on the prices page. |
The spa also says on its price page that its prices are valid for pools including Galaxy slides, The Wave and the Therme, and that the Vital Oasis costs a further €10 per stay.
Documents and eligibility
The only document the spa names is a German disabled person's pass (Schwerbehindertenausweis). The prices page says a "B" (Begleitperson, accompanying person) or an "H" (hilflos, helpless) must be entered in it. The FAQ words this as having the classification for a caregiver on the card. The pages we read do not mention a UK document (such as PIP evidence, a Blue Badge or the Access Card), the EU Disability Card or any other foreign proof, and do not say how a visitor without a German card is treated.
Our reading: this means "not named", not "refused". A visitor with a non-German document should ask the spa in writing before travelling, as the free-carer concession may not be available to them. The spa lists +49 8122 550-0 on its FAQ page, Monday to Friday 9:00 to 18:00 and weekends and public holidays 9:00 to 13:00; the page also gives an email address. See also our guide to UK documents abroad.
Travelling with companions
One carer enters free with a B or H card (disabled guest over 4, carer an adult). The pages do not say whether there is a limit on how many companions may come at the standard price, or how a carer is treated who is not named on the card. The house rules say people who need supervision because of a physical or mental disability, or because of conditions such as epilepsy, heart disease or a risk of fainting, must be accompanied by a suitable adult aged at least 16. That is a safety rule, separate from the free-entry concession, which needs an adult carer and the card mark.
Pools and slides: what the spa says
- No water lifts. The spa says it has no water lifts. Guests should be able to take a few steps into the pools, alone or with a little staff help. We found no published description of pool steps, rails, ramps or in-water seating.
- Galaxy slides. The FAQ says every guest is welcome but you should be able to slide on your own. There are no special lifts at Galaxy. It recommends that guests with disabilities avoid the X-Treme Level slides, which it says only very sporty sliders should use.
- House rules for slides. The rules say non-swimmers may not use the red and black slides, that blue slides are only for non-swimmers with swimming aids, that tyre slides need the tyre, that you must slide only in the prescribed position and clear the exit at once, and that children aged 0 to 6 may use certain slides only when held by an adult behind them. The rules posted at each slide entrance apply, and staff instructions must be followed.
- Slide height and age limits. The Galaxy page appears to list age limits for individual slides; we have not checked or set them out here, so read that page before choosing a slide.
- Medical entry rules. The house rules bar anyone with an infectious disease (a medical certificate may be requested), open wounds or intoxication. We found nothing on dressings, catheters, stomas or prostheses, so ask.
Toilets, changing, rest and equipment
- Accessible toilets: the FAQ says there are toilets equipped for physically disabled guests in the foyer and in the Tropical Spa area. For Galaxy, it says accessible toilets and a collective changing room with matching shower facilities are available in the foyer and in the Therme, and that Therme access is included in the Galaxy entrance fee. We found no count or map.
- Showers and wheelchair: the FAQ mentions special showers in the communal changing rooms and a special shower wheelchair, which it says is available. We do not know how to borrow it or whether it can be taken to the pool.
- Changing Places or adult changing table: not mentioned. No hoist or changing bench is described. If you need one, ask the spa before you go.
- Wheelchair or scooter hire: only the shower wheelchair is mentioned. Hire of a general wheelchair or mobility scooter is not mentioned. The Hotel Victory page lists stroller rental with a deposit.
- Quiet spaces and sensory information: no quiet room or sensory guide is published. The house rules ask guests to keep quiet in the bathing and rest areas, especially saunas and steam rooms. Noise, lighting and crowding levels are not described.
- Medication, oxygen, allergies: not covered. The FAQ describes the sulphur-rich spring water as medicinal; it does not give medical advice for individual conditions, so ask your clinician and the spa.
- Assistance dogs: the house rules say animals are not allowed on the premises and the hotel pages say pets are not allowed at the spa or Hotel Victory. No exception for assistance dogs is stated. Ask the spa before you travel.
- Lockers: the FAQ mentions free safe deposit boxes needing a €2 deposit coin in the foyer and by the Vital and Sauna, and a locker key on the chip worn on the wrist. We found no information on locker heights.
Arriving by car, train and bus
Parking. The FAQ says there are 600 outdoor spaces and 1,050 in the parking building, plus free spaces for motorhomes for one night with admission. It does not mention disabled bays, a count, a distance to the entrance or which permits it accepts, so a UK Blue Badge or EU parking card is not addressed.
Train and bus. The spa says you take the S2 S-Bahn to Altenerding, then bus 550, 560 or 580 on weekdays or 570 on weekends and public holidays. You can also walk 800 m from the station on a signposted path. We have not checked station lifts, low-floor buses, the walking surface or gradient. The Gästehaus page says Erding is about 36 km north-east of Munich and 16 km from Munich Airport, 41 km from the main station; the Hotel Victory page says transfers to and from Munich Airport can be arranged on request in advance.
For wider journey planning see the journey guide.
Where to stay
The Hotel Victory FAQ says the whole hotel is fully accessible, that there are rooms designed for wheelchair users, that all floors have lifts and that staff can help with extra aids or assistance. It lists free parking in front of the hotel. It gives no room sizes, bathroom layout, shower or bed details, so ask for those in writing. We found no accessibility statement on the Victory Gästehaus pages we read, so we make no claim about it.
A flexible shape for the day
This is planning advice, not an official recommendation.
- Before you go, ask the spa about documents, accessible changing and how to get in and out of each pool with your needs, because there are no water lifts.
- Phone in the staffed hours, or email, and ask for the answers in writing.
- Arrive in the foyer, where the accessible toilets and showers are, and ask staff about the shower wheelchair before you change.
- Choose the ground-floor Therme first, and decide on the Galaxy slides only after reading the slide rules at each entrance.

- Is there a Changing Places toilet, hoist or adult changing bench, and where?
- How do you borrow the shower wheelchair, and can it go to the pools?
- Are assistance dogs allowed, and where?
- Are there disabled parking bays, and are foreign permits accepted?
- Is there a quieter area, and how crowded and loud does it get?
- Can medication, oxygen or medical devices be kept close to the pool?
- Are the station, buses and the 800 m path step-free?
